We all took a break for the summer and now should be all 'refreshed'. Good. Because we have a load of activities this month end, and the next month, like...
September 30th — Honor night for Marjorie Barnes, Grand Representative of Nebraska in Washington. This is an open meetingl. Welcome starts at 7:30 as we honor Margie for this major accomplishment in her Star life. If she has ever touched your lives in any way, you might want to be here. This could range from Sewing projects, chapter minutes, Weddings, Rainbow Board, cooking endeavors, bowling, Class Reunions, or just a shoulder to lean on. We are definitely looking forward to a room-filled audience in tune with her many achievements. Hope you can come.
October 9th — Fall Luncheon & Fashion Show with Crystal Chapter 12:00 pm at Crystal Chapter, Enumclaw (on State Route 169) with Rottle's Fashions, Inc. Salad luncheon with entertainment! Female and Male Models will be performing, so don't think you'll want to miss this one. Be-A-Guest for your own catered dinner drawing will be held also! Thank you also for the many donations made for this event.
October 14 — Stated meeting at Laurel. We will finalize our 5 new members by a vote and celebrate with a pie auction to benefit out Eastern Star Scholarship Fund. Our Auctioneer Ray Limbo will be here to set-the stage. Also, this night we will be honoring our Top 4 plus Conductress & Associate Conductress, and thanking Bertha for her some 40 years of being an outstanding Treasurer for Laurel Chapter! Way to GO Bertha!! Get your bids in early for the “wild. huckleberry' and 'lemon crème', yum, yum.
October 15-17, 22-24 and 27-31 — Haunted Forest. Our Eastern Star group will be providing food and refreshment at the annual Haunted Forest at the Royal Arch Park in Maple Valley. Shifts are set at 4 hours each night x 2 people. Contact your WM or WP if you want to be on-sight to one of the BEST HAUNTED FORESTS in the WEST. (Phone 206-431-9736)
And... more October 27th is our *Official Visit with Century Chapter in Issaquah. Pot-luck dinner starts at 6:00 with the meeting at 7:30. Laurel Chapter has the work and closing, so the Practice is October 24th at Century Chapter in Issaquah at 4:00 pm. * the Sunday before *
October 30 — Masonic Home Visitation — Diamond Lodge & Laurel Chapter and all other Masonic Bodies. Due to our Official Visit practice, we have had to re-schedule the Masonic Home visitation to the 30th of October, yes, a Saturday. Starting time is 2:00 pm (in the basement) where coffee and cookies will be served, and of course B-I-N-G-O. Come out and enjoy the fun, or just take a rocking chair break after all the other things we've done this month.
I know this is a very busy month, but wanted to get this all over in October, so that you will have more time to enjoy the Holidays!
